Final Defenders v.290 "Cool Moon, Bro"


Okay so first up, I'd just like to say the long gap since the last release is because I've been trying to get the campaign mode playable (at least the first 3 missions of it), but this has been something of an ever-shifting goalpost. I eventually opted to cut it from this release, but the underlying work behind it is probably 80% ready or more, under the hood. So in theory, next one will be soon and will show this working. Y'know... in theory.

But There Is A Moon, Right?

However, unless I'm much mistaken there's a few new goodies in version 2.9! We have a whole new city to defend; the space colony on the second moon of Mykor, showcasing quite a different building style. The placeholder Asset Store headquarters has finally been replaced with our own assets; which I think is the last of the placeholder assets replaced. There's also been big balance and AI tweaks, with enemies now attacking targets rather than shooting areas randomly and now also needing to be on-screen before they can fire (to nix their near-impervious off-screen cheesing of your HQ). There's also been big internal changes to structure to allow for new levels... which means although this is the first new city we've seen, it'll be joined by many more very soon!

Oh! Anything Else?

I'm glad you asked! There have been a number of visual and UI bugfixes, Devastation and the HQ's final health now show on the summary along with the players' accuracies... oh, and the Hanab Battleship can now launch fighters, as intended =)
